HADES
HADES is a small libary that can be used to include linear collider
background in PYTHIA. It can be downloaded
here. The file needs to be gunzipped and untarred. The library can be
produced by make after setting the correct paths in the makefile.
The resulting hades.o can be linked to PYTHIA programs (PYTHIA 6.xxx).
with make hades_import and make hades_view two help programs can be created.
The first can transform a formatted background file into a binary one. The
second can be used to inspect a background file, see below.
Comments and question can be sent to
Daniel Schulte .
Available background files
The following files can be used as input files for HADES. They usually come in
two versions. The first is a binary version that can be used directly with
linux. The second is a formatted version. It needs to be gunzipped. To
transform the file into a binary one, one can use the hades_import program.
After calling the program it will ask for the name of the source file
(the formatted one) and for the target file (the newly created binary file).
With the program hades_view one can inspect a background file. After calling
the program it will ask for the file name. The number of events found will be
printed and they can be accessed by typing an event number. Typing 0 will
exit the program.
